This is one from the archives. All this rain made me remember making these pictures last year in a similar stretch of wet weather. For me the picture is more about relationships and living with someone than what's happening outside.

Although I live in Manchester I love Liverpool and spend a lot of time in the city. Yesterday I was in both cities - Manchester in the morning, Liverpool in the afternoon. They are physically close but they are utterly different in atmosphere, light, and architecture. The people are also very different too and it's not just the accent, there seems to be a fundamental difference in attitude and approach. I find it fascinating and like photographing both places, so this is the first of my diptychs exploring the connections and differences in the two cities.
